  • A resident of Atlanta, Georgia, Michael Ndungu worked for 18 years as taxi driver before discovering his religious vocation.
  • Michael joined the Dominican Missionaries for the deaf apostolate in 2018 and completed his novitiate in 2019.
  • Brother Michael is currently undertaking his 3rd year of Philosophy studies at the Holy Apostles College in Cromwell CT and lives with Father Tom Coughlin in New Jersey
  • Michael hopes to graduate in 2021 with BA degree in Philosophy and proceed with his Sacred Theology studies

    The founding of the Dominican Missionaries for the Deaf Apostolate has been largely a labor of love for our founder, Fr. Tom Coughlin. In 1977, Fr. Coughlin was the first deaf priest to be ordained in the United States. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to create opportunities for the deaf community within the Catholic Church.
